Revised Penal Code
From Legal Wiki
The 1870 Codigo Penal de España or Penal Code of Spain of 1870 was in force in the Philippines up to 31 December 1931. While many of the offenses contained in the old Penal Code remains the same in the Revised Penal Code, the old Penal Code did not contain certain provisions, including:
- Vagrancy. The first statute punishing vagrancy – Act No. 519 – was modeled after American vagrancy statutes and passed by the Philippine Commission in 1902.
Act No. 3185, which took effect on 1 January 1932, revised and superseded the old Penal Code.
